I was surprised at how clean and updated this place was. Since the hurricane, there's not much to Cameron, la. But the owner is determined to make it a place that's comfortable, clean and affordable and one that visitors can stay with no qualms.
Manager / owner is an a**hole, after paying for 8 weeks of business up front, I couldn't get a room on the bottom floor while I had an injured, swelling knee. The entire motel was empty so availability wasn't the issue. Then, the tv remote stopped working and he refused to look at it in less I brought it to him, back down the stairs with a swelling knee. Also, mysterious looking bugs and roaches throughout the facility, as well as a leaking roof.
Location was good, fast food restaurant was established near the motel so it was easy to get food. Wasn't far from the event I attended. Maids were excellent, got the room cleaned up very well. Quality of the room was modest. Overall a decent stay.
It's a good small hotel for small families to stay at for a couple nights and fish.
Was a decent place to stay. Ended up staying there instead of the beach. It's minutes away from the beach. Crabbing and fishing area. Right down the road from the ferry.
